What's Happening
Our Church has a wide range of groups that happen during the week. some of them are on a weekly basis and others from week to week. There are my ways you can be involved in the church and this is one way to keep connected. We welcome the community in to our groups. This is a great place to be involved with the people of the church and the people around our area.

Children's Ministry
Our Sunday services are interactive with the children in our congregation. The children will enjoy a range of activities in the service and during kids' time. We cover a range of stories and events that happen in the Bible, allowing the children to explore their own interests and ask questions. We have all ages of children in the congregation and the children love to have new people to play and interact with. We have movie days for the children of Opawa during the school holidays. We would love to welcome new children and their families into the Lords family at Opawa.

Bible Study Groups
The Bible study group meets at the church on a Monday morning at 10:00 am. The small group studies a variety of topics, books, and ideas, but at present, we are going through a set of David Pawson "Unlocking The Bible" New Testament. The group likes to study for around 40min and then fellowship and enjoy time together in, Prayer, and Praise. The meeting will wrap up at 11.30 am. you can feel free to come and go at any time, stay for the 40min study then leave, or join for the fellowship. We hope to have you join us. Opawa Op Shop
The Church runs an Op Shop throughout the week filled with many goodies and generously donated goods from the Community.

Coffee Group
The Coffee group meets approximately every 6 weeks on a Monday evening @ The Valley Inn. It is a great catch-up time to meet fellow church members and spend time with the church family outside the church setting. There is no shortage of lively chatter and lots of laughs. We love having new faces join the group. Though things are on hold currently, we anticipate resuming our get-togethers once we are back to level 1. Ukelele Group
The Ukelele Group focuses on learning to play the ukelele for fun. A few ladies of the Church have joined together to teach this special instrument. The group includes both children and adults. We like to do a variety of songs from Te Reo Maori, worship, and other tunes. Anyone is welcome to join our group, so bring your ukulele and join in the fun. We meet after Church every second Sunday. SAYgo
Steady As You Go
This is a morning of exercises that have been developed over a 3 year period at Otago University to prevent yourself from falling. these exercises are designed to improve your balance, mobility, strength, general fitness, and wellbeing. Womens Neighbourhood Support group
The Women's bible study group meets on a Wednesday morning at 10.30am in the church meeting room during the school term. We are a group of about 12 older ladies who meet to pray for each other and our community. This is followed by a bible study and a shared lunch. We love getting to know new members. Walking Group
We meet regularly on a Tuesday morning at 9.30am sharp in the Church car park. The length of walking time varies between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours Most of our walks are around flat areas but occasionally we will do a hill climb. After you are welcome to join us for a cup of coffee. If it is raining then we will still meet for a coffee. We would love to see you come along.
